AI Requires Governance and Ethics to be a Chance Instead of a Risk

Hari Seldon Stage
Stage BAS
Artificial Intelligence more and more complements or even replaces human decisions. This trend can be seen across all industries and includes both chances and risks for companies and citizens. Comprehensive governance of AI prerequisites, model development and deployment can mitigate the risks and increase the chances to generate positive business value. Ethical guidelines, e.g. avoidance of bias regarding customer gender, age or religion, should be established, implemented, controlled and detected problems corrected to avoid bias with negative impact. Examples for violation of or conformance with common ethical standards are increasingly discussed in the press and in public. Autonomous car accident decisions, life insurance approval based on selfies and AI disease recognition will be discussed.
