AI is the buzzword of 2018 and people often foretell job losses due to artificial intelligence. To put in a nutshell, we clearly say “No” – AI is here to help humans, to support them, to ease their work load, and increase efficiency by taking over “boring” parts. In this talk, we present our strategy to create a symbiosis between AI and humans, where the AI knows it limits and hands over to us humans for the challenging tasks. We present various hands-on examples demonstrating what an AI can do today. But, how does one acquire data to train such AIs? With an increased interconnection between AI and humans, swarms of sensors infiltrate our perimeter – aka the “internet of things” – raising concerns of privacy through data hoarding.

Do we really need to hoard all data? Is machine learning inevitably connected to a degree of privacy violation? No, decentralized learning, differential privacy, and federated learning are here to help. Sounds all Greek to you? Join us in our masterclass!
