Managing Complexity of Big Data Workloads in Multi-Cloud Environments

Joan Clarke Stage
Stage BAS
The landscape of cloud-native technologies constantly grows leading to great opportunities when it comes to the development of big data applications in the cloud. In order to leverage the benefits of these leading edge technologies, complexity arising from the heterogeneity of cloud infrastructure and data services has to be managed. Ease-of-use and accessibility is as important as control and transparency to ensure security and compliance. This talk illustrates characteristics of different cloud platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift or Cloud Foundry and shows a way to reduce complexity by managing challenges like identity management, governance and cost across the big data pipeline.
