Unrecognized Treasures - How Digital Asset Management became an Essential Part of DigitalizationDiscovery Stage
Digitalization has become indispensable. What started with a hype about the buzzword “big data” is now everyday life. Connecting data and people has become key. Everybody talks about KPIs, SEO, SEA, scalability, transparency... digital bric-a-brac. Most commonly forgotten are photos, videos and visual assets in general. Why is that? There is a tendency to underestimate their importance and they easily get characterized as something “only the marketing team needs”.
But there is greater potential for digital media assets - and they deserve the same attention as business figures. Visual content can not only be found in marketing and sales, but also in shop systems, PIM/PDM, ERP, for technical documentations, e.g. on the customer’s premises, on construction sites, for freight leaders, in R&D or facility management. And don’t forget the images and graphics that are needed for trainings or presentations. Also in B2B context visual contents is more and more expected.
