Since the beginning of 2017, Franka Birke is CEO and Co-Founder of the PropTech Startup METR.
After her studies of business administration at Humboldt University Berlin in 2004, Franka started to work as a research assistant at the Chair of Technology and Innovation Management at Technical University of Berlin and gained extensive experience in the Startup segment. She successfully raised third-party funds of around € 3.5 million for the acceleration of young tech entrepreneurs. In 2010 she completed her doctorate with a dissertation on "Technological Competence and Success Factors of Startups".
From 2011 to 2015, she was in charge of successfully establishing the German branch of the Climate-KIC accelerator, a European-wide programme funded by the European Institute of Technology with a focus on Clean-tech projects. In 2016 Franka took over the Directorship of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at TU Berlin.
