Peter Eriksson is a member of the Swedish Green Party and has served as the Minister for Housing and Digital Development since May 2016.
His areas of responsibility are housing and construction, as well as information technology (ITC) policy. In his words, ”Sweden needs to build more, cheaper and more sustainably. Everyone should have access to the potential and possibilities that digitalisation presents. This is my priority as Minister for Housing and Digital Development”. Prior to his appointment as minister, he was a Member of the European Parliament.
From 2002 to 2014, he was member of the Riksdag. He was further one of two spokespersons of the Green Party in Sweden between 2002 and 2011. He lives in Kalix, Norrbotten, where he was Municipal Commissioner from 1999 to 2004. He was also member of the Riksdag from 1994 to 1998.
