Thomas Dyar is a Product Specialist for Machine Learning at InterSystems.
Previously he worked at Biogen as a Bioinformatics Scientist developing Next Generation Sequencing pipelines and data analysis systems. Before that he was a Manager in the External Innovation group at Becton Dickinson (BD) where he connected with startups building breakthrough healthcare solutions, and led internal innovation projects applying deep learning and intelligent assistants for healthcare applications such as chronic disease management. Prior to that he worked as a Data Scientist developing algorithms to process genomic data for infectious diseases and oncology diagnostics. In addition to deep bioinformatics experience, his technical expertise includes scientific programming in Java, Python and R, machine learning using neural networks and kernel methods, biological image analysis, and data visualization.
Thomas started his career developing neural networks and expert systems for process control in aerospace and petrochemicals, and developed distributed virtual environment systems for stroke rehabilitation at MIT. Thomas earned a BA in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Boston University, and is a member of the ACM and IEEE associations.
